- Duration: 8 x 45-minute in-person small group lessons (one per week)

Our classes are held in fully sterilised vet clinics, providing safe environments for young puppies. The clinic is thoroughly cleaned before each session with hospital-grade disinfectants, ensuring a hygienic space for early socialisation and training. Puppies can attend as long as they’ve had their first vaccination, meaning they don’t miss out on these crucial early learning experiences.
Our group classes take place in the vet clinics’ waiting rooms; a familiar and comforting environment that helps puppies learn to socialise safely and confidently. It’s the perfect setting to introduce your pup to new everyday experiences, preparing them for vet visits and other real-world situations in a way that’s stress-free and supportive.

About Puppy School
Are there any prerequisites for joining?
The ideal age to start is 9–10 weeks—they’ve had time to settle in, but you haven’t missed their critical socialisation window. As long as your pup has had their first vaccination, they’re good to go! Classes are held in a fully sterilised vet clinic for a safe, positive start. Puppies older than 12 weeks may need a different program.
Where Are You Located?
We run classes at Happy Pets Family Vet in Camp Hill on Wednesday Evenings, and at Greenslopes Family Vet in Coorparoo on Sundays. We appreciate that people travel for this signature program, and if we’re a bit of a drive from you, it’s also great practice for your puppy to get used to car rides!
How long is the program, and what’s included?
The program runs for 8 weeks, with one 45-minute group class each week. When you enrol, you’ll also get:
- You’ll get six months of access to my weekly group Zoom Q&A sessions—so I can support you even after puppy school ends. It’s the perfect way to help you transfer those early foundations into real-life situations and guide you through the start of the teenage stage.
- You’ll have two months of WhatsApp support to send videos, ask questions, and get personalised feedback, so you’re not just relying on weekly classes. It’s a great way to make sure you’re on the right track at home and to stay connected in between sessions.
- Even after puppy school ends, I’m still here for you. You’ll have lifetime access to my Facebook support group—a space to ask questions, share wins, and get ongoing guidance whenever needed.
- To help you get started, you’ll receive a handpicked puppy pack with essentials I know work. By getting exactly what you need from day one, you’ll save time, money, and guesswork.

What kind of training do you use?
We use positive reinforcement techniques like reward markers and clicker training to make learning enjoyable and worthwhile for your puppy. Think of it like getting paid for a job well done; we’re teaching your pup that good behaviour earns rewards like treats, toys, praise, and play. That way, they actually want to keep doing the right things.
What skills will my puppy learn?

How many puppies are in our classes?
With a maximum of 3 puppies per class, your pup gets the calm, focused environment they need to thrive, without the overwhelm or distractions of larger groups. You’re never just a number here. Smaller classes mean more personalised guidance for you, and a safer, less stressful learning space for your puppy.
What do I need to bring?
You can bring your puppy on a flat collar or harness with a regular lead (no retractables, please). You should also bring plenty of small, high-value treats your puppy loves—think soft and smelly! I’ll provide everything else you need during class.

Our puppy school is designed to support most breeds, from outgoing social butterflies to more sensitive pups.
